Dear Valued Clients,

The BVI Financial Services Commission issued a notice on 25 September 2016 advising the extension of the fee neutral period to 31 December 2016 for filing Registers of Directors on behalf of BVI business companies. This is subject to Cabinet approval which is expected shortly.

This means that the transitional period for filing a Register of Directors in the BVI without paying a government fee of USD25.00 has been extended to 31 December 2016.  With effect from 1 January 2017, a government fee of USD25.00 will apply.

All companies are required to file a Register of Directors with the prescribed information by the end of the final transition period of 31 March 2017. A failure to comply and file within this final transition period will incur significant penalties.

As we expect an increase in the number of Registers for filing during this period, please send us your completed register no later than 15 December 2016 . Due to the administrative time and resources required to file a Register, we will not be held responsible for any government fees payable as a result of receiving a Register for filing later than 15 December 2016.
